How to Choose Quality Systemic Enzymes

All enzyme supplements are not the same. QUALITY, EFFICACY and ACTIVITY are important factors to consider when selecting systemic enzyme products. High quality enzyme products should be assessed based on the following standards: quality-enzymes.jpg

arrowright.gifWhat is enteric coating, and why is it needed? Why is BPPS such an Advantage over other processes?

Enteric coating is a layer of protective coating for dietary supplements that is meant to allow the supplement to bypass digestion by the stomach and be absorbed in the small intestine. Systemic enzymes are proteins, so their functional structures are denatured (or destroyed) in conditions of extreme pH and temperature. Without enteric coating, enzymes would be rendered useless long before they reach the bloodstream, where their carry out their beneficial effects. There are several systemic enzyme products on the market today that do not use enteric coating at all and very few that use the most Advanced Delivery System called BPPS®. Our Two Signature products that we offer called SERRACOR-NK & SERRA RX80/260 provide this highly advanced process that makes these two products UNPARALLELED  to any others on the Market Today!

arrowright.gifActivity vs. Milligrams
Unlike other supplements, the weight (mg) of an enzyme supplement carries no significance. It is not the amount but the potency, or activity, of the enzyme that really matters. Guaranteeing the ingredients are available to the body is more important than how much of a nutrient is listed on a supplement label.

Although each enzyme has its own specific function in the body, they tend to work synergistically when taken in combination. Because of their variety of origins and substrates, wide ranges of optimal temperatures and pH levels, increased percentage of absorption, and increased level of effectiveness, enzyme blends have a wider range of advantages than do individual enzymes. Additionally, when enzymes are taken in combination with vitamins, minerals, herbs or phytonutrients (naturally occurring nutrients found in plants) the combination improves absorption and bioavailability of the ingredients.

All enzymes have a pH range. At the extremes of this range, whether acid or alkaline, systemic enzymes will denature (become irreversibly inactive). While it is true that most fungal and plant source systemic enzymes exhibit a fairly broad pH range, some bacterial sourced systemic enzymes are less tolerant of low pH. Because we work with the actual manufacturer of our enzymes, they are tested for both pH and temperature stability. Based on the results of these kinetic studies, we have repeatedly demonstrated that serrapeptase is much less tolerant of a low pH and will begin to lose activity in acidic conditions consistent with the stomach. Therefore, for maximum effectiveness, serrapeptase is most effective when enterically coated.

Because of our manufacturing process with systemic enzyme blend for human consumption, we have to ensure that it will tolerate the pH variables of our gastrointestinal system. We have successfully done this with these systemic enzyme products, including Serra RX 80 & Serra RX 260 (enteric coated serrapeptase), Serracor-NK a proprietory blend using NattoSEB and SEBKinase (a blend of Peptizyme and NattoSEB). As a result of our experience and expertise, our line of enteric-coated enzymes are able to reach the small intestine with higher activity for full systemic enzyme therapy.

We also offer a product of which is the Strongest Serrapeptase on the Market Today with the highest activity containing 130,000 SUs of per capsule with 120 capsules per bottle to have a total of 15,600,000 SUs of ENTERICALLY COATED ULTRA PURE SERRAPEPTASE  for a price of $81.99. We also have to keep in mind that Serra RX has been a proven product helping people for over 11 years. **

arrowright.gifSystemic Enzymes are NOT Digestive Enzymes

Digestive enzyme supplements are designed to be taken with each meal to complement the body’s own enzyme production to help break down food. Systemic enzymes are designed to be taken on an empty stomach so they can bypass gastric acid digestion and enter the intestinal tract. Here, systemic enzymes can be absorbed intact into the bloodstream.

arrowright.gifPlant-based and Microbial Enzymes vs. Animal-based Enzymes

Systemic enzymes can be extracted from plant, microbial, and animal sources. Plant-based enzymes are active in a broad range of pH, which means they remain stable throughout the intestinal tract. Most enzyme supplements are extracted from natural fermentation of microbes such as bacteria, which have a narrower optimal pH range that is maintained by enteric coating. Microbial enzymes are more practical to produce and the enzyme content is easier to control. These enzymes are suited for vegetarians and do not interfere with the natural functioning of the body and therefore have no side effects. In contrast, animal-based enzymes work only in a narrow range of pH and can easily be destroyed by stomach acid.

arrowright.gifCapsule vs. Tablet

Enzymes in capsule form are more available to the body than tablets. Tablets often have binding agents and a protective coating that make it difficult for the body to absorb the enzymes. Also, the processing techniques used to make tablets require extreme pressure to compress the ingredients, creating friction and high temperatures that can destroy the enzymes rendering them useless to the body. Capsules are created under much milder conditions allowing the enzymes to stay intact and remain available to the body.

arrowright.gifMake an Informed Choice

There are several systemic enzyme products on the market today. In this case, you there are two alternatives: an enzyme product from an expert enzymologist with over 50 years of experience and who uses the most Advanced Delivery System, BPPS providing superior QUALITY, EFFICACY and BIOAVAILIBILTY available today or one that does not use this method. You deserve the highest quality and most effective enzyme products available. We encourage you to make an informed choice.
